28 - Accountability for Your Legacy

“So what got you into this work, Jen?”
It’s a question I’ve been asked repeatedly over the past two weeks - during a radio interview, a presentation to 50 wealth-management clients, and while launching two new succession planning programmes. The curiosity is telling.
Succession planning and end-of-life preparation are widely recognised as important, yet often postponed until everything else is done. What people and organisations are discovering through Living Legacy is that clarity alone isn’t enough.
The real catalyst for progress?
Accountability.
By combining practical advance planning for personal and professional responsibilities with accountability coaching and mentoring, clients stay on track—and actually see things through to completion.
So, what was it that inspired me to create Living Legacy? Thanks to Sarah Naylor at Dublin City FM's 'Ladies Who Launch' radio show, you can learn more here
Setting Intentions and Keeping Accountable

In Ireland, February 1st welcomes the beginning of Celtic Spring, known as Imbolc. through Brigid’s Day, honouring Ireland’s female patron saint, it’s a time traditionally associated with protection, fertility, blessing the seasons ahead, and sowing seeds for a bountiful harvest.
This is also the moment to set intentions for the nine months leading to Samhain (Halloween), before winter returns in November. When you factor in holidays, time off, and the slower pace of December and January, the window for meaningful action is shorter than we like to think.
As the days grow brighter and seeds are planted with hope of abundance, now is an ideal time to set goals and make plans. But planning alone isn’t enough. Accountability is what turns intention into progress.
Intention without action often becomes a weight, showing up as frustration or regret. Building on the last Living Legacy newsletter, where I mentioned The Bullet Journal Method, it’s worth reflecting on this: what are you actively working on, what “shoulds” are you avoiding, and what do you long to do but haven’t yet prioritised?
This season invites us to clarify what we want to achieve this year and beyond, and to break those ambitions into realistic, manageable steps.
Businesses routinely plan in quarters and months, tracking progress along the way. But how often do we apply the same structure to our personal lives?
I believe accountability is essential, to stay aligned, to follow through, and to honour what we set out to do.
So, how will you keep yourself accountable?
