Hello my name is Jennifer and I am a recovering procrastinator. How about you?
How many of us use procrastination as the excuse to resist doing what we know 'should' be done? How much of our energy does delaying, hesitating or avoiding drain our sense of being?
This week for me was a brain fog week. I had poor quality sleep and also a total lack of energy to get anything done. So much so that this week's newsletter is a little later than intended.
Like all the butterflies of thoughts shows in the image above, we all have so many things we know need to be done, others we have yet to start, and others half done that they just need our focus and action to complete.
Intent is one thing, with procrastination and resistance often getting in the way, to the productivity and completion we strive to achieve.
Persistence overcomes resistance. Step by step each action will bring us closer to achievement.
How are you deciding which intentions to work on? How are you stepping forward?
One aspect important to consider is in how we nurture ourselves through rest, nutrition, exercise, community, and creativity. Mindset and mindfulness needs energy to put our thoughts and feelings into action. Procrastination itself, while often feeding on our habits of fear and resistance, is also fed on how we care for ourselves to build the energy we need to get things done.
Within our daily lives we think on average 60,000 thoughts, so that sense of procrastination consumes so many thoughts that result in frustration at ourselves for not getting things done. How does procrastination present itself in your life? What are you yet to begin or to finish? How will you tackle your long list to get done? How do you care for yourself to build your energy levels to fuel you forward?
When you set yourself these kind of goals, how quick are you to begin? What is it that holds you back? How are you keeping yourself accountable?
Referring to our last Full Moon Newsletter article 'What If You Go First?', adding on to this, It is your persistence that will overcome resistance, so take one step today towards what you want to get done.
