Writing Your Living Eulogy

Apr 11, 2024

Following our post about The Wheel of Life (and Death!) we want to now talk about creating a Eulogy.

When we die someone will likely stand up in front of a group of our loved ones and acquaintances, talking about our life well lived, a snapshot of who we once were and how we will be remembered.

How often have you considered your own Eulogy?

Here on Linkedin we are repeatedly invited to update our profile, for our CV or businesses/employers we send through updated biogs to ensure that our accomplishments are effectively captured to portray our suitability for the role. Yet we can often shy away from considering the final biog of our life will be spoken after we are gone.

So what would you like in your Eulogy?

🚸 What was your childhood like?
👯 Who have been the important friends and mentors in your life?
💃 What brings you joy? - whether that be hobbies, adventures, travels, volunteering
💟 What has brought you comfort - rest, treats, certain foods, drinks, books, tv shows, being in nature, etc.
💪 How have you excelled? Be it work, community projects, parenting, etc.
😇 How would you like to be remembered?

Next time you are writing your biog, consider all aspects of your life, not just your work. How do you want to be recognised and ultimately how do you want to be known?

Your living eulogy is much more lasting than the one spoken for mere moments once you are gone.

Enjoy the reflection.

A project forever honoured to be a part of and in a country that will always have a place in her heart.
